On April 1st, 1924 one of the greatest miscarriages of German justice is announced: On trial for treason, putsch leader Adolf Hitler receives the minimum sentence of five years in prison. The judges allow Hitler to use the courtroom as a platform for hour-long speeches, offering the prospect of early release for good behavior. Nine months later, Adolf Hitler walks free again ?
