After the end of WW II, over 30 politicians and legal scholars meet on Herrenchiemsee island on Aug. 10, 1948, to draft a new and democratic constitution for West Germany. The experts manage the incredible feat of drafting a document in only 13 days that became the foundation for the German Basic Law, and which is valid to this day. The German Basic Law served as the model for the constitutions of South Africa, Hungary and Spain.
