Process

The serial killer sets his sights on the investigators: he has Kägi in his power and has made the son of prosecutor Mettler disappear without a trace. Is it Wilder's turn now? But Jesch's series of murders could soon come to an end, as his neighbor, who fell in love with him, gets on his trail.

In pursuit of the criminal, Rosa's colleague Jakob jumps in front of her car and gets seriously injured. It is uncertain whether he will ever be able to walk again. In addition, the serial killer has apparently struck again: village policeman Lukas Zimmermann is found dead. A footprint is all that the perpetrator left behind. Police chief Schwaller threatens: if Wilder and Mettler do not deliver results within 24 hours, he will take them off the case.

Jesch now also targets the investigating officers and has overpowered Kägi. Now the latter lies tied up in a hidden cellar. Police officer Kägi also has been involved in the death of a suspect a few years ago. Jesch could now call him to justice for this.

The next target is the public prosecutor Michael Mettler: Jesch is pretending to be a talent scout towards Mettler's son Jonas. Shortly thereafter, Jonas disappears without a trace. Michael is in a panic: Will Jesch harm his son?

Jesch continues his plan of revenge unswervingly and seems to be everywhere at once. But his murderous thoroughness is beginning to crack. Jesch's neighbor Ruth has fallen in love with him and invades his house in his absence. In the process, she comes across clues that make one thing clear to Ruth: she has fallen in love with a serial killer. Will she report him to the police?
