The Main (3/11)

The Main is a reflection of Germany's natural environment. Restrained and yet irrepressible. For decades, it was disregarded as a mere sewer of the Economic Miracle era. However, as the second longest river in Germany, winding its way from east to west along a route measuring 542 kilometers, it has much more to offer. Over its course, it flows past four major German low mountain ranges and is now re-establishing many unexpected natural spaces, which are home to black storks, wild cats, lynx and osprey. Nowhere else can you see the power of life and the forces of nature better than by traveling along the Main.
