Adam narrowly avoids a second assassination attempt. Heading ahead of his colleagues, he goes to the home of the deceased attacker. They seemed convinced that he was the killer they were looking for. Confronted with evidence implicating him, Adam steals an important piece of evidence. He approaches Lucia, his prisoner, to try and understand how the killer chose their victims. As he progresses with his investigation, he becomes increasingly troubled by certain facts: evidence and reports have been falsified or destroyed, as if someone were trying to cover their tracks. Rosen is also aroused by these clues. Convinced that Adam is the killer, Rosen prepares his confession, knowing that he will soon be arrested.
